Comédie du Livre: stay near the Peyrou

Every year in mid-May, Montpellier hosts the Comédie du Livre — 10 jours en mai: literary events across the city, then an open-air book fair on the last weekend, on the Promenade du Peyrou. About 60,000 visitors, independent bookshops, authors signing under the tents.

The festival returns each spring around that time. Programme, Peyrou map and opening hours for the current edition: 10joursenmai.fr.

Ten minutes by tram to the Peyrou

From the apartment, tram line 4 (direction B) stops at the Corum, Louis Blanc, Albert 1er – Jardin des Plantes, then Peyrou – Arc de Triomphe, in about ten minutes. The fair is on the esplanade, just above the stop.

The address: La Perle des Aubes, 53 boulevard Charles Warnery, Les Aubes.

• A 3-bedroom flat for 6 guests, 2 bathrooms.

• Parking in the residence, with a badge — useful when the centre fills up in mid-May (Comédie du Livre and FISE follow each other in spring).

• Tram line 4, Les Aubes stop, at the foot of the building, towards Peyrou – Arc de Triomphe.

How to get to the fair and the talks

By tram (the easiest option) — L4 from Les Aubes, direction B: Peyrou – Arc de Triomphe for the book fair. Talks in the first week are held in several city-centre venues: same line, Corum, Louis Blanc or Albert 1er depending on the event.

On foot — allow 30–40 minutes to the Peyrou. At night the tram is more comfortable.

By car — do not plan to park around the Peyrou during the fair. Use the residence car park, then line 4.
